Well I don't really know much, but I heard that at the age of 17 you are allowed to move out, but I do believe that you must live with someone old enough like 18 or older, and still go to school. If you have a car and it isn't under your name your parents CAN take it away. But I don't know if this is true. I wish someone would answer this question cause I am 17 and I am ready to move out!
AnswerThe legal age of majority in the state of Alabama is 19, therefore a person under the designated age could not "legally" and arbitrarily leave parental custody. It verys from state to state in the US but in Alabama the parent can not force them to move back in.
The only way a 17 year old can move out on their own is to get legally emancipated. If the minor attempts to move out without emancipation, they can be charged as a runaway.
Not legally, as the legal age of majority for the state is 18.
