The coordinates 61N 149W are located in the North Pacific Ocean, northwest of the Hawaiian Islands and southeast of the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. This location is remote and mostly open water.
The volcanoes that formed the Aleutian Islands are the result of a process called subduction. The Pacfic Plate is sliding or subducting under the northern part of the North American Plate at about 3 inches per year. As this oceanic plate dives into the mantle it takes some seawater with it. The water seeps into the hot rocks of the mantle, lowering the melting point. The resulting molten rock or mantle then rises through the North American Plate then erupts through the North American Plate, forming volcanoes.
The coordinates provided are in the North Pacific Ocean, far from any landmass. The location is close to the International Date Line, and the nearest landmass would be the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, over 1,000 miles to the east.
its volcanic islands i think Simple answer is islands. Depending on location, answer could be Hawaiian Islands, Aleutian Islands, or any other volcanic islands.
It crosses through, and around, a number of islands and a lot of water in the Pacific Ocean. The line deviates from a straight line to keep it from passing through countries such as the USA (Alaska), or New Zealand, and island nation such as the Marshall Islands and the Aleutian Islands.
COOK STRAIT
Cook Strait is the body of water which separates New Zealand's North and South Islands. It is named after Lieutenant James Cook (later Captain), who was the first known European to circumnavigate and chart the islands of New Zealand.
To reach islands in western Europe, such as the British Isles, travelers would typically cross the Atlantic Ocean. Depending on their starting point, they might also traverse other bodies of water like the English Channel or the North Sea. Each of these bodies of water connects the mainland of Europe to various islands in the region.
The countries that border the US include France, Albania, Australia, Argentina, and many others.
