There are three fuse boxes in an E430. There is one on the drivers side of the engine compartment, another is behind the plastic panel to the left of the headlight switch, and the third fuse box is next to the battery under the rear seat cushion.
To access the fuse box near the battery, push up on the clips at each side of the rear seat cushion, then pull the seat cushion up and forward. You will see on the passenger side the battery and a fuse box. Fuse 41 is in the fuse box in the engine compartment. It is in that group of fuses towards the rear of the fuse box, nearest the windshield.
