He didn't necessarily hate Fidel Castro, but America thought that Fidel was a communist, and because of Cuba was right next to America, they thought that is was "communism on their door step". Fidel was quite chummy with Khrushchev but NOT communist, and when America stopped trading with them, Khrushchev offered to step in and help them. Thi lead to Fidel becoming communist, and because Cuba was so close to America, they considered this as a sign that communism was spreading.
That would be Fidel Castro.Castro led the revolution overthrowing Fulgencio Batista, whom opponents described as a dictator, in 1959. Shortly thereafter, Castro was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Cuba. Ironically it was Castro who would become the dictator of Cuba.

In 1959 Fidel Castro lead a revolt in Cuba 1959.
As a communist nation, Cuba accepted military assistance from the Soviet Union (Russia). Castro accepted & allowed Soviet (Russian) missiles to be installed on Cuban soil.
Fidel Castro came to power promising free elections and reinstateing the Cuban constitution of 1940. He gained popular vote to oust Fluengio Batistas 8 years of Dictatorship. Fidel Castro also made it know that he "was not a Marxist" severe Soviet style persecution began as people who struggled and created the revolution did not do so in the name of Marxism and communism. Huber Matos, Camilio Cienfuegos were generals of the Cuban revolution and were eliminated by Fidel. Popular uprisings after Fidel declared Cuba communist in 1962 lead to blood shed in the Escambray mountains when rations of groups try to over come the misguided revolution of Fidel Castro. By then the Soviets and the Americans were too heavily involved and hundreds of thousands of Cubans began to defect and migrate.
