Yes,I was in Bangkok though the protest and never felt unsafe. The protesters were in a designated area,all you had to do was stay away from that area. Don't believe everything you hear in the news media. go to Bangkok and enjoy I will go back Aug,31.

Yes Thailand is safe for a vactation, I am 12 and have been there with my family, I didnt get sick. You have got to be careful of a few things though.

Dont drink the water out the tap only bottled water.

From the carts on the streets some of the meat has been sitting out there for ages and if you eat it you can get sick, so if you want to eat of a cart wathc them cook it and check there utnsils are clean, but to be save I wouldn't eat out of a cart at all.

Be careful where you go in Thailand, I went to Bangkok and Phuket they are lovely , so I would recomend you go there.

Dont get into a car that doenst look like a taxi , as they could kidnap you. This wouldn't happen much but always be careful. If your travelling with kids, while you walk the streets keep them close to you and if you have infants carry them.

Just remember this and you wil be fine. Its always good to talk to the travel agent if you have any worries and also ask some friends if they have been to Thailand.
