I’d say Japan is absolutely worth visiting.
When I went, what struck me most was the balance between the super modern side (Tokyo’s neon streets, bullet trains, quirky cafés) and the traditional side (Kyoto’s temples, bamboo forests, tea houses). I followed a plan from Pinerary (this 10-day Japan itinerary) and it really showed how much variety you can experience in a short trip — city life, hot springs, beautiful gardens, even staying in a ryokan.
Food alone is a reason to go — from sushi to street food and even the convenience store snacks. It’s also one of the easiest countries to travel in: safe, clean, and super efficient transport. The only downside is it can get crowded and a bit pricey, but honestly, the experiences more than make up for it.
So yes, Japan is 100% worth it if you enjoy culture, food, and a mix of old and new.
