Unfortunately Mancunians tend to include everywhere in Greater Manchester in their calculations (for example Salford which is a city in it's own right). Try LovemyTown.co.uk which provides lists about everything to do with towns and cities in the UK based on the latest census figures. That site will tell you that the CITYof Liverpool's population is 469,017, while that of the CITYof Manchester is 394,269. Liverpool's area is 10,875 hectares compared to Manchester's 10282. I believe that makes Liverpool bigger!
