The airgun laws in New York are some what complicated. You can not ship to or own them in the following zip codes 100xx-104xx and 111-114xx and 116xx. Any where besides NY City and its Burroughs they are legal. Keep in mind if you are going to ship an airgun to yourself in NY that you remember that NJ has a restriction on these items through out the whole state.

Your chances of being approved for an NFA permit to own a full auto in NY are null. As for semi auto AK clones, yes, you can own them in NY. However, if they're manufactured after the so-called Assault Weapons Ban of 1994, they can only be single feature rifles, meaning they can only have ONE of the following: pronounced pistol grip, flash suppressor, bayonet lug, collapsible buttstock, grenade launcher fitting. Additionally, magazines which hold more than ten rounds and were manufactured after passage of the 1994 ban are prohibited in NYS.

New York State has an ongoing "assault weapons ban". If the rifle is manufactured after the passage of the federal ban (September 1994), it may not have more than one of the following features:

• Collapsible buttstock
• Pronounced pistol grip
• Bayonet lug
• Flash suppressor (a permanently pinned and welded muzzle brake is okay, though)
• Grenade launcher fitting
