Being a fire fighter is going to be about the same in either the US or the UK. Whether a person thinks it's better in either country is a matter of opinion based on a fire fighter who has been able to work in both locations.
Neither are better. They are both equal and we rely on them both. Firefighters save us from fires and rescue us from accidents. Police protect us from harm and prevent our hard-earned money being stolen. They are both fantastic and they are both capable of heroism.
It depends on your definition of 'better'. If you mean better paid, yes they are. For instance, a firefighter in Mexico earns a salary of some US$8,712 on average, while an American firefighter earns some US$32,748. Most jobs follow the same proportion of 4 to 1 between American and Mexican wages.
Depends on your opinion.

One is too many, and I am being serious, been a Firefighter/EMT for 30 plus years, many of us get into situations that are often overlooked as a whole picture. Safety first..
A quart is two pints, a US pint is different from a UK pint. A us pint is 473ml,a UK pint 568ml. this is why metric is better, it's the same everywhere. 25l is 26.417 quarts US 25l is 21.997 quarts UK.
