Alternatively, Antarctica is a relatively pristine environment, apart from our human intrusion, where studies of the earth and the atmosphere can be made without the pollution and rubbish scientists would have in cities. As long as everybody adheres to the terms of the Antarctic Treaty, Antarctica should be well looked after, the Military are excluded from military activities and mining is out of the question.
