Depends what u mean by hot and cold ,, and depends where in the UK.
genarally, average annual in the UK is in the Winter, the Temp. ranges from -10'C - 10'C, and Summer 10'C - 30'C (average).
Last few years have seen odd hot and cold temps. for e.g ,, one day would have a high of 20'C and a low of 3'C.
I think that it is a neutral climate.
