South america is a large Continent that spans from the equator to almost Antarctica so this gives it a large diversity in climates from rain forest, deserts, and grassy plains. In the southern most tip of south america it has snowy mountain peaks. So you can't just label it as either hot or cold just label it as mixed range of climates.
