The Atkatsuki are real in Naruto Shippuden. In Shippuden episodes you see them more frequently and you see when Sakura was the first person to defeat an Atkatsuki member, Sasori. The throughout the seasons, The Hidden Leaf Village members such as Naruto and his friends defeat more and more of them. But in the real life there is no such thing as the Atkatsuki. Well, not that I know of.
