I am unable to find any references to it being banned by name - thus, tentatively, the answer would seem to be yes. However, when it comes to matters which could ultimately cost you your freedom, you're better off to send in an inquiry to the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice. Don't take a chance on an answer from a website in which anyone can contribute without being required to offer any sort of credentials regarding their knowledge on the matter, not when it's in regard to legal issues which could land you in jail if you get it wrong.

Yes Springfield makes an XD that is legal in California. BUT - don't just slap a 10-round clip in the one you bought in your home state and bring it to california, that does not make it legal. Ask a gun dealer or consult Springfield with your serial number to verify your firearms legality. Don't forget to register any new gun brought to California within 60 days. Thank you California Gun Control
