No.
No it is a misdemeanor in the state of Mississippi.
It differs depending on which state you're on. Most States have an underage possession or consumption violation that usually carries a fine and may impact your driving privileges.
My son was charged with underage possession of alcohol in PA. The actual charge was written as "underage drinking", which I think is very unfair. He was offered to serve 20 hours of community service or take a 2 weekend alcohol "rehab" course at the cost of $100. He also lost his license for 90 days. Apparently this will remain on his driving record forever, but not his criminal record. Luckily, due to this being his first offense (and hopefully last!) he was eligible to apply for a limited occupational/school license. This allows him to drive himself to work and college only.
Were you caught? Depends on the state.
If you're of legal drinking age, and have a closed container in your vehicle, none. Open containers and/or underage possession are different matters, however. Three months to one year tends to be the default - it can vary by state.
no u cant
In most states, potential punishments for underage drinking can include fines, community service, alcohol education programs, suspension of driver's license, and even criminal charges. It is important to be aware of the specific laws and consequences in your state regarding underage drinking.
Depends on the State you reside in. Every State and city has their own statutes on Minors in Possesion of alcohol. Sauce(myself) state of Pa.
Except for the underage possession of alcohol charge, your age is of no relevance - you are legally an adult. There are no set punishments or sentences for criminal offenses. The court must consider the relevant state law, the facts and circumstances of the offense, and any other mitigating or aggravating factors surrounding the offense. In most (all?) cases, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and minor in possession of alcohol are both misdemeanors. Typically, these crimes are not punished harshly, but generally bring about a fine, community service, and/or probation. However, even as misdemeanors, they can each be punished by up to 12 months in confinement.
You could have drank it somewhere , like another state, gone into another state and been charged with and MIP in the second state for having the alcohol in your system.
When a minor is in possession of alcohol, the charge goes on the minors juvenile record if the minor is under the age of 18. For people over the age of 18 in possession of alcohol, it goes on your permanent record in New York State.
Yes, underage drinking is a misdemeanor. It is considered a MIP, Minor in possession. In the state of Michigan, both are misdemeanor's.
