There are many famous Australian Immigrants, but in my opinion, the most famous one would have to be Fran Arnold. Fran worked with Lee de Forrest and developed the first practical way to produce sound film in 1920. This led to the first movie that used sound to advance the plot "The Jazz Singer" in 1927. Fran Arnold worked in the background of may famous "talkies" but starred in the rare film "The virtue of Sheraton". His great life was cut short in 1935 during the filming of what was going to be his greatest work, "The Broken Branch", when a support structure collapsed and a stage light fell upon him.
