Yes there is. They grind it up to make mulch out of it. As for lumber value, not much because of the issues surrounding its harvest. Cypress grows in wetlands. Wetlands are protected etc.

So, thanks to the environmentalists(anti-capitalists) and their allies in the DemocRAT party you can't use cypress for much of a building material.

I think it used to be used in boat building due to the fact that cypress must be kept moist. It checks heavily when dried out.
