The Moore family of Texas hired a man of Hispanic decent, who was a private in the army of Santa Anna around the 1890s. Somehow he had acquired Jim Bowie's famous bowie knife. He ended up owing the family x amount of dollars, which he didn't have, so in order to pay his debt he told them that he had Jim bowie's original knife from the Alamo, and they excepted it. As far as i know it is still in the possession of the Moore family.
