The Arabian Sea.
Arabian Sea
Trough the India ocean and Arabian sea britishers reached India they constructed a monument at Bombay (now Mumbai), known as gate way of India.
I would guess this, just by looking at the map. London to Malta, then to Egypt. Then, you would use the Suez Canal and go through the Red Sea. Then you would sail the Arabian sea straight to Bombay.
Bombay or now known as Mumbai
Bombay India
Bombay (now called Mumbai) is a city in western India just off the coast of the Arabian Sea in the state of Maharashtra; India's most populous city; has the only natural deep-water harbour in western India. Delhi is a city in north central India. New Delhi is the capital of India
Oil is found in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Assam. It is also found near Mumbai, in the sea. The place in the sea where oil is found is known as 'Bombay High'.
Sailing from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to Bombay (Mumbai), India, you would primarily navigate the Indian Ocean. The journey would involve traveling across the southern part of the ocean, potentially passing near the Arabian Sea as you approach the western coast of India. Depending on the specific route taken, you might also encounter the Mozambique Channel if you choose a more southern path.
The route you would take is... English Channel, Atlantic ocean, Strait of Gibraltar, Alboran sea, Mediterranean sea, Suez canal, Gulf of Suez, red sea, gulf of Aden, Arabian sea and finally to Bombay. The alternative is sailing right round the southern tip of Africa !
Mumbai is a large and important city in India located on the Arabian Sea. It is known for being a financial hub, as well as a cultural center with a diverse population and vibrant arts scene.
