Yes he was ! Jimmy was only 16 when he won the open class of the golden gloves. Normally a 16 year old would compete in the sub novice division . The open division was for older and more experienced boxers. That was in 1976 , today(2010 ) you have to be 17 to enter the golden gloves so this record might be unbreakable !
