Namibia
Walvis Bay is the only part of Namibia that wasn't a German colony. Walvis Bay was part of the Cape Colony (later Cape Province) of South Africa, which was a British colony, since 1878. German Southwest Africa was foundered in 1885. Namibia became independent on 21 March 1990, and Walvis Bay became part of Namibia on 1 March 1994.
Germany did, in 1885. South Africa, which was a British colony, occupied Walvis Bay in 1878, and the rest of Namibia in 1915.

Germany had quite a few possessions in Africa. The colony that was in Southern Africa was what is now modern day Namibia and part of neighboring Botswana.
It is now known as Namibia.
Namibia gained its independence from South Africa on March 21, 1990 after a battle from 1966 until 1988 to obtain their freedom. The next two years were spent establishing a peace plan and encouraging South Africa to withdraw.
The largest seal colony in the world is in Namibia, specifically at Cape Cross Seal Reserve. This reserve is home to thousands of Cape fur seals that come to breed and socialize on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
