ann
The city of Savannah was the first city in Georgia. It was established in 1733 by colonists led by General James Oglethorpe, who travelled from Britain on the ship Anne.
The ship that carried the first colonists to America was the Mayflower. It famously transported a group of Pilgrims from England to the New World in 1620, landing at what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts. The voyage is significant in American history, marking the establishment of one of the earliest successful colonies.

James Oglethorpe and the first group of Georgia colonists arrived in the New World aboard the ship named the Ann. This vessel set sail from England in November 1732 and reached the shores of what would become Georgia in February 1733. Oglethorpe's expedition aimed to establish a new colony as a refuge for debtors and the poor, as well as to serve as a buffer against Spanish Florida. The landing marked the foundation of the Colony of Georgia.
