A big resounding YES! My dad was in the Army stationed in Fairbanks and I started school there and was in the state when it became our 49th (1959). My brother in the 1990's was stationed at Fairbanks while he was in the Army. He had 4 children and all of them attended school for the 4 years they lived there.
