What are major lakes rivers or mountains in Costa Rica?

too numerous to mention. of note there really are no lakes in Costa Rica except for the man-made Lago Arenal and the Laguna de Corcovado deep inside the Corcovado National Park (this lagoon is almost entirely covered by vegetation).

as far as mountains go we have plenty:

The most famous if you have to name 3 would be: 1.) Arenal as it's active daily and it's a major tourist attraction. 2.) Poas, the most visited National Park in Costa Rica and easily accesible from San Jose. 3.) Cerro Chirripo, the highest point in Costa Rica.

Rivers: again plenty of them but Rio Reventazon and Rio Pacuare are most often mentioned (especially by white water enthusiasts), and Rio Tarcoles (unfortunately because of its heavy pollution)

It is very diverse. Through the middle of the country is a mountain range, creating the coastal slopes on the west and east coasts. San Jose, the capital, rests in the Central Valley area, just in between these two ranges. There are volcanoes littered throughout, the country's most active being Volcan Arenal in the Northern Lowlands, near La Fortuna.

Due to the rain shadow phenomena, the west coast gets much less rain than the Carribean.

Costa Rica is home to tropical rainforests, tropical dry forests, pristine (and some VERY dirty) beaches (important:don't swim in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca or drink the water there. Swimming in Cocles and anywhere south is fine, but still drink bottled water. Septic tanks aren't common, as the euphemism for this disgusting bay is stated in Fodor's.), cloud forests, volcanoes, and a lot more.
