The old (usually fresco-painted) monasteries in Northern Moldavia and Oltenia, the Danube Delta, the old German (Saxon) towns in Transylvania (such as Brasov, Sighisoara, Sibiu, Bistrita), the spas (excellent thermal and mineral waters, usually set in a beautiful landscape - my favourite is Herculane, founded 2000 years ago by the Romans), some rural mountainous areas (around Bran, the Maramures County, etc), many castles and fortresses. NOT the seaside!

The salt mine (Slănic, in the Prahova county) used for its healing properies when u have problems with breathing and a very interesting place to visit the shapes and statues created from salt.
