Human environment interaction in Sicily is similar to most other countries. Whenever we do anything to change the environment, that is interaction.

• Building roads.
• Building houses.
• Cutting down trees.
• Planting crops
• Polluting the atmosphere with carbon dioxide
• Learning how to survive with little water.
• Throwing litter
• Establishing a landfill
• Building a dam or a bridge across a river.

I'm sorry to write that it is awful. The people of Sicily consider of value only personal properties and consider of no values common properties. Just to explain how it works (I saw this 4 years ago during a staying in Messina): the bartender cleans of the garbage left by customers his tables, cleans them carefully and throw the collected garbage in the full-up-to-puking waste container on the opposite sidewalk, actually damping half of his garbage on the ground. His spot was perfectly clean with a view on a dumping ground. Their attitude is to spoil, use and not preserve nature.

They also have an inclination to consider (their) boundaries mobile forward, until the neighbour reacts and they shift back.

Not a very good attitude toward environment.
