One thing you must on NO ACCOUNt miss is the view ferom the roof of the Samaritaine department Store. this is in the very centre of Paris, so you can see much more than from the Eiffel tower, and is opposite the Ile de la Cité so you can see Notre-Dame - which can't be done from Notre-Dame itself. From my MINIGUIDE TO PARIS (http://www.grenfell-banks.com/hgbservices/miniguid.htm): 6: The SAMARITAINE Department Store - four whole blocks of it, with a basement extending under all four and all the streets between. The underground car-park spreads, as we have seen, even further. The Samaritaine sells absolutely everything, at all prices from cheap to ridiculous. A visit to this store is COMPULSORY for all visitors, because from the 10th floor of Shop No. 2 (the one by the river) you can go up a flight of stairs to a café terrace, and another spiral staircase to a viewing platform with one of the finest views in the world. If you're scared of heights, go all the same. The viewing platform is only a few feet above the flat roof, so you can't look straight down; I've taken hundreds of people up here, children and adults, and not one of them has ever got vertigo. Round the edge of the platform is a panoramic picture of the view, a little out of date now, with all the buildings labelled. You are higher than the houses but lower than the great monuments, and just opposite the point of the +le de la Cité, in the very centre of Paris. Gaze for hours. nip downstairs, buy a coffee and gaze sitting down. It's the greatest show on earth.

The Champs-Elysee is another famous attraction. It is a big avenue in Paris that contains many high-end boutiques but also a lot of cafes and other entertainment.

Mont Martre and the Sacre Coeur is a good place to stop. This is the big hill where the Cathedral (called Sacre Coeur) is located. This beautiful white church is a gorgeous site to see. On the hill, there are many painters and artists working and selling their art.

The Centre Pompidou is a modern museum. On the outside you see all the Plumbing and the pipes are bright colors. This is a very modern and chic building, which contains great exibits.

Paris is also known for it's #1 fashion.
