The charity Children in Need telethon has been held every year since its inception in 1980.
So far it has raised over £500 million to help fund UK organisations which support children under 18 who have a physical, mental or psychological disorder. It also helps children who are in poverty or suffering abuse.
This year so far, the total raise stands at £18.9 million. Not bad going seeing as we're supposed to be in a recession right now !
