More forest land is being cleared from day to day to expand the agricultural land, especially the clearance of forest land by the foregin companies that received economic land concession from the royal government of Cambodia. The forest land is being converted to cash crob plantation such as rubber, cassava, sugarcane, cashew nut, etc. The smallholder farmers still confront to shortage of land / landless for farming activities. The country that had forest cover of 73% is now at higt risk of losing its abundant forest resources.
