In New York, to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the state and the county, city, or village for at least 30 days before the election, and at least 18 years old by the date of the election. You must also be registered to vote at least 25 days prior to the election. Additionally, individuals currently incarcerated for a felony conviction are not eligible to vote while they are in prison, but they can vote once they are released.
