The three branches of the federal government (and our state governments in the U.S.) are the legislative (Congress: the people who make the laws), the President (the person who executes/carries out the laws), and the judiciary (the courts - such as the Supreme Court - who interpret and evaluate the legality, validity, and Constitionality of the laws).
