Historically party colours have varied by region. Purple was never the main colour of a national party, but in different times and places it's represented everything from the Liberals to the Conservatives. I can't give you a list for the last two centuries throughout the whole country, but if you have people wandering around Victorian London in purple rosettes, they're probably Tories.
