An ozone hole forms when there is no UV-C from the Sun to replace the decay of ozone (both natural and man-caused). This occurs when the pole is having winter.
Antarctica's hole (South pole) is larger than the arctic hole (North pole), because the Earth's magnetic field directs positive charges from the solar wind to it, which is primarily hydrogen, and hydrogen oxidizes to water vapor, which decays ozone. The north pole gets almost exclusively electrons, which tend to make a bit more ozone, although indirectly.
See "Why is an ozone hole formed only above Antarctica and not over developed countries that emit a lot of CFCs?" in the "Related questions" section below.
The ozone layer dissolves above Antarctica. It is because of cold temperature there.
The CFC caused the hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica!
The layer of gas found above Antarctic is ozone. It was found to be depleted.
The chemical that cause ozone hole over antarctica is CFC. Chlorofluorocarbons are the ones that contain chlorine which deplete ozone layer.
The hole in the ozone layer is above the continent of antarctica (something along the lines of that)
Ozone hole is the lowering of ozone concentration. It is caused by man made ODS.
Pollution depletes the ozone layer, and is causing a hole in it right above Antarctica.
Chloro-fluorocarbons damage the Earth's ozone layer, which results in a dangerous increase in the solar ultraviolet radiation which reaches the ground.
Scientists discovered a hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica in 1977. This hole was primarily caused by the release of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other ozone-depleting substances into the atmosphere.
The ozone hole is quite big. It is as big as Australia.
The ozone hole was discovered over Antarctica.
The ozone depletion is the thinning of ozone layer. It is most prominent over Antarctica. The ozone depletion is the thinning of ozone layer. It is most prominent over Antarctica.
