Before Makkaah, Muslims used to face Jerusalem (Bayt ul-Muqaddas) while offering Namaaz. It was the the mosque of Qubaa or Qiblatain where Rasoolullaah (saws) was commanded to face Kabatullaah while he was offering the Farz namaaz of Zohr.
