what did douglas mawson achieve
After his disastrous and deadly experience on the continent , Sir Douglas Mawson vowed to never set foot on the continent again. All his subsequent expeditions there were accomplished by ship: he traveled around Antarctica that way.
Douglas Mawson's 1911-1914 expedition took place in Antarctica. They set off from Australia and had several base camps, including the main one at Cape Denison in Commonwealth Bay. The expedition covered various regions of East Antarctica, including the Adelie Coast and the George V Land.
Douglas Mawson set up a scientific research station on Macquarie Island to study the island's geology, biology, and meteorology. The station provided valuable data for understanding the Southern Ocean ecosystem and climate.

Robert Falcon Scott set out for Antarctica in 1901 and again in 1910.
Davis Station was established, not discovered. It did not exist prior to 1931, when the location was first sighted by Sir Douglas Mawson and Flight Lieutenant Stuart Campbell during the second British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition. Captain Klarius Mikkelsen was the first to set foot on that location, in 1935.
