Matthew:15:21-29
21: Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22: And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23: But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24: But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25: Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26: But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27: And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28: Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
29: And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
Notice that Jesus went to the coast of Tyre and Sidon, met the woman, then immediately left the region.Meaning perhaps he went to region especially for her.If so, why did he answer his disciples that he was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel? Perhaps he answered for them--the disciples--,who to this point thought exactly that.He most likely was showing them the error(speaking of exclusiveness) of their hearts; which would not be fully put away until the Lord gave Peter the vision of animals in the sheet let down from Heaven later in Acts.
A lot if you are a Jew! He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." [Matthew 15:24]
The children's food is healing for God's people who are the children of Israel, and the Gentiles, who are the remainder of mankind, are the dogs, so called. And Jesus said that he was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel, so he should not listen to the 'dogs'. However, the Syro-phenician woman, by her persistence, got from Jesus what she wanted - the healing of her daughter. (Mark 7.24 to 30)
He meant that you can only enter Heaven through Him. Like a doorway, and we are the sheep.
This story relates how even though the shepherd has 100 sheep, when he loses one, he searches until he finds the last sheep, even if it means losing his life. This shows that Jesus, the shepherd, will search out every lost person even at great cost.
The Bible says that the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin settled in what was to become the kingdom of Judah, while the other ten tribes settled in the area of the kingdom of Israel In 722, the kingdom of Israel was destroyed by the Asyrian Empire and the people dispersed over the Near East. Because the former Israelites assimilated into their host cultures and gradually lost their separate identities, they are sometimes referred to as the "ten lost tribes of Israel". Some people, unwilling to believe that the entire population of Israel would have so willingly adopted the religion and culture of non-Abrahamic people, continue to hope that somewhere in the Middle East, or elsewhere, will be found a group of people still practising an idealised worship of God and waiting to be returned to their former home.
A heep so old that has lost it's teeth.
In the book of Luke chapter 15, fifteen . Jesus tells of three different things that were lost, they all mean one thing and that was sinful man. They are as follows. 1) THE LOST SHEEP. 2) THE LOST COIN. 3) THE LOST SON. IN the prodigal sons parable.
The Cross- Jesus's crucifixition. The sacrifice of his life for our sins, forgiveness, etc. Fish- Fishers of men, as in saving others from their sins through Jesus Christ. Lamb- Jesus, and purity, and the perfect sacrifice of one who was sinnless, like a lamb is innosent. The Shepard- leads the sheep like Jesus leads Christians and when a sheep gets lost the Shepard comes after it to save it and as Jesus does for those who stray. Bread- The Body aka Jesus's body which was broken when He died on the cross. Wine-The Blood that was spilt when He died on the cross.
It refers to Jesus being our shepherd and taking care of us
He was thirst because he did not eat for 40 daysbecause the devil was trying to decieve him
If you mean where were Jesus half brothers while he spent 3 years traveling around Israel then they were in Nazareth. If you mean now they are most likely in Heaven with him.
The meaning of the parable, each and every one of us are very precious in the sight of god. and he has no desire to see any one should get lost for ever.It means that God rejoices over a sinner who repents than 99 good people who don't need to.Here in the parable of the lost sheep, we sinful man are the lost sheep, and god is trhe sheperd who looks out for the sinners to repent and come home. This is a story told by Jesus of Nazerus to explain his and God's love for everyone. If there is a hundred good people, but one person sins, he will leave all the others because they are doing fine, and go to comfort and save the sinner. Hope this helps on your path to God's mercy.God will go to great lengths to be available to those who stray - He will be right there waiting when they are ready to turn to Him.
