Amun-RA was the highest of all the egyptain gods. He was combinec with Ra he sun god which made him even more powerful. He saw that all requests were either grantted or ignored depending on the plea and the religious depth of their actions. He saw that all things were in place and that nothing fell out of order, he was responsible for ancient Egypt.
Amun did not turn into Amun-Ra, they are two different gods.
