The Torah forbids it.
Euthanasia was invented or started by Hitler because he wanted to purify the races (Jews) Euthanasia was invented or started by Hitler because he wanted to purify the races (Jews)
Perhaps a follower of the Hebrew religion will weigh in on this question, BUT I do not believe that Jews believe in the practice of euthanasia, therefore it is doubtful that Israel would legally allow it.
Mercy killing you say? As for me, euthanasia is never a part of my option. People, choose it as an escape for hospital bills.
There's some confusion here. The Nazi regime systematically murdered incurably ill patients until about August 1941 but then scaled back the programme in view of public protests from some Roman Catholic bishops. The Nazis called the programme 'euthanasia' ('mercy-killing'). The genocide of the Jews was separate and started a little later - in December 1941. However, many of the SS-men who were active in the euthanasia programme went on to play a key part in the Holocaust.
If you believe in the Bible, I suppose you could say that God created euthanasia. He (allegedly) facilitated the deaths of people suffering from an "incurable condition" - corruption and wickedness. If you don't believe in the Bible, you could still say that the fable of the Ark brought about the idea of a sort of euthanasia, which could have easily developed into the meaning it has today. This is just a theory, of course.
In the UK, The Suicide Act 1961 defines assisting someone in the act of suicide to be a criminal offence. 'Euthanasia' itself is not a legal term in the UK as there are no laws relating to it, therefore cases of euthanasia are treated as either 'manslaughter' or 'murder' depending on the specific circumstances.
Jews say that Esau sold his birthright to Jacob
Jews regard God as their savior.
Euthanasia is illegal in Sweden.
No, euthanasia is illegal in Greece.
non active euthanasia is the same as assisted suiside :)active euthanasia is just plain old suiside :)
The protests in 1941 were against the euthanasia programme (that is, the killing of incurables), notagainst the persecution of the Jews. The protests were headed by the Roman Catholic bishops of Münster and Limburg so they had firm institutional backing. The Nazi regime temporarily halted the euthanasia programme, and when they restarted it they did so on a much smaller scale. The now unemployed professional killers were transferred to Poland to kill the Jews ...
