How long is the st johns river in Fl?

The St. Johns River Water Management District and most Florida state agencies use a figure of 310 miles for the length of the St. Johns River. Water control structures put in place by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in cooperation with the South Florida Water Management District sometime in the 1960's splits the Upper St. Johns River watershed marshland. At about the Indian River County boundary with St. Lucie County, the watershed in St. Lucie County is diverted to the south. From the southerly boundary of Indian River County the Upper St. Johns River is allowed to flow northward. It is not clear whether the 310 mile figure represents the original upper watershed marshland area or whether it includes the Fort Drum tributary stream watershed which extends southwest of the main basin and into St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties.
