The view from McMurdo depends on the season. During winter, the McMurdo Sound is frozen over with sea ice, and in summer the sea ice melts.
As the sea ice melts, you can see the effect of the tide buckling the ice and standing it up along the beach.
Always visible is Mt Discovery and its surrounding mountains. Mt Erebus and Mt Terror are behind McMurdo Station.
