Tokyo is a massive city and just like most cities it is predominantly office and residential high rise buildings. Similar to that of other very large cities, Tokyo is divided into many separate districts with some of the more famous being Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi, Akihibara, Shinagawa, and many others.
One thing that really distinguishes some of the major areas of Tokyo are the large display screens and advertisements. The city is so densely populated that no matter where you go in Tokyo there will virtually always be a others around. See the link below from Answers.com for pictures of the city.
