Ancient Greeks believe that everything in nature was controlled by the Gods. The weather was controlled by Zeus, Lord of the Sky. Poseidon controlled earthquakes and waves/hurricanes/storms at sea, known as the Earthshaker or the Lord of the Seas. Hades was responsible for death. Each god controlled their own part of nature, or part of natural human feelings/activities.
