We eat pretty much the same southern fare as the rest of the south, but with heavy cajun and creole influences. If you can drop it in oil and deep fry it, we're probably eating it. Even ice cream! Some of the decidedly southern dishes include: grits, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, buttermilk cornbread and cornbread dressing (never stuffing!), collard greens seasoned with bacon grease, butter beans, green beans, and cabbage - all seasoned with bacon grease, lol, gumbo, crawfish etoufee', boiled and fried shrimp, lots and lots of catfish - fried, broiled, baked, you name it, and lots of grilled dishes including grilled zucchini, bell peppers, shrimp and beef kabobs, etc.
And yes, we all wear shoes, have indoor Plumbing, we don't have "relations" with our relations, ahem, and I don't know anyone who has killed another human being, or wanted to, based on his skin color!
