they call him Christ Child
The Little Drummer Boy played his drum for the Christ child as his gift, offering his music and talents as a tribute.
The citizens of heaven, the angels of God, gave a song to the newborn Christ, announcing His birth to the shepherds in the fields near Bethlehem and singing "Glory to God in the highest" proclaiming the divinity of Christ.
The gift of Jesus Christ dying for you on the cross and eternal life. But not everyone accepts that.
The Sacraments are a Gift to us from Christ.
Love.
Jesus Christ is the greatest GIFT of God's love
In Germany, the gift giver for Christmas is traditionally known as the "Christkind," which translates to "Christ Child." The Christkind is depicted as a golden-haired, angelic figure who brings gifts to children on Christmas Eve. This tradition dates back to the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century when Martin Luther wanted to shift the focus away from Saint Nicholas to the Christ Child as the gift giver.
Within Christianity it is an act of recognizing God as the creator and that the child belongs to and is a gift from God. It is a pledging to raise the child by God's standards and to teach the child about God. It is not baptism as that cannot occur in those denominations that don't do infant baptism. Baptism does not happen until the child is of a sufficient age and level of understanding to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior and desires to make an outward expression of the change in his or her life and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Well From My Excperiences Of Being A Child I Have Gotten Gifts From Infancy To Now And I've Loved Them, My Sister Is 19 Years Old And She Still Loves Gifts From Our Mom And Dad And My Grandmother Actually Gets My Father Gifts And He's 46 Years Old So I Guess It's A Tradition Thats Goes On Like I Say "A Christmas Gift Is A Gift Full Of Christ And Love". :)
