Yugoslavia
Ethnic groups in the former Yugoslavia continue to fight due to historical animosities, political manipulation, and unresolved issues stemming from the breakup of the country in the 1990s. Deep-seated ethnic divisions, nationalist ideologies, and competition for territory also contribute to ongoing tensions and conflicts.
Yugoslavia was once 1 country from 1945 until the 1990s.........It now comprises: Slovenia Croatia Bosnia-Herzegovina Serbia-Montenegro Kosovo & Macedonia. Before WW2 it was part of either Austria/Hungary or the Ottoman Empire.......
Yugoslavia
Slovenia was part of the Socialistic Federative Republic of Yugoslavia for many decades before the 1990s.
War in former Yugoslavia started in 1991. The biggest fights were during period between 1993-95 in Croatia and Bosnia. In Serbia during that period we had hyperinflation, misery, lot of fugitives. Sellary was around 1 deutsch mark and with that money you could buy only bubblegum. We di not have electricity, running water... We lived as in 16th century.
Yugoslavia no longer exists as a nation. It split into several countries in the 1990s, including Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Slovenia. None of these countries are located in areas prone to tsunamis.
