When the Pilgrims, a group of English Separatists seeking religious freedom, attempted to go to the Netherlands in 1608, they faced significant challenges. After a failed initial attempt in 1607, they successfully reached Amsterdam, where they found a more tolerant environment. However, they soon moved to Leiden, where they struggled with economic hardships and concerns about losing their cultural identity. Ultimately, their desire for a new life led them to seek a more permanent settlement in America, leading to their voyage on the Mayflower in 1620.
i don't know go check in your notebook or something
they weren't granted permission to get into Holland
Yes. I've tried it and nothing happened.
Pilgrims like religious places.
The Pilgrims seeked religous freedom so they fled from England to The Netherlands (Holland). After 10 years there they decided to go to America. The Dutch asked if they would claim land for them they refused (to close to Dutch inflouence). They got docking warrent from the London-Virginia Company but landed in what is now Massachusets they signed they Maylflower Compact and since they werent in Virginia they decided to stay and they started the settlement of Plymouth.
There is no known state where the Pilgrims went before sailing to America. Though they had gone to the Netherlands for a number of years. The Mayflower left from England after stopping to meeting up with the Speedwell's passengers from the Netherlands and before traversing the Atlantic Ocean to land at Cape Cod instead of their expected destination at the Colony of Virginia.
Catholic pilgrims go to visit the great synagogue of Rome.
No one "hired" the Pilgrims. I think you have the idea of starting a colony wrong. The Pilgrims got to Plymouth where there was NOTHING. No Walmart, Target sitting there waiting for them. They lived on the ship until they could chop down trees, build houses, put up fences, plant crops. They left England on their own to be able to practice their religion and there were 60 Pilgrims from the same village. They had tried the Netherlands first and that didn't work so they headed to the new world.
Because the pilgrims where in wore and the needed some where to go
They settled in the Netherlands first but did not want their children to grow up Dutch. So they hired a boat to take them to the New World. They were supposed to go to Virginia but they made an error because of a storm at sea and landed on Plymouth Rock.
The Pilgrims decided to go to America where they could worship freely.
