On Meedhuparu we found a lot of small harmless ants in the sand close to our villa. also a few larger red ants about 1cm in length which did bite. we saw one mosquito in two weeks, but the island was regularly smoked to kill them. we also saw a type of damsel fly. there wer small fruit flies and slightly larger "normal" flies, none caused any problem.
