Jackson lived most of his adult life in western Tennessee, near Nashville. His home, the Hermitage is there ,as is his tomb. He was the first US Congressman from Tennessee and one its first Senators. He served as a Justice in the Tennessee Superior Court. As an army leader, he protected his home from Indian attacks. Of course, his success in the Battle of New Orleans and his 8 years as President of theUS made him famous in TN as well as in the rest of the country.
