* Electricity - total installed capacity: 19,505 MW(2007) * Electricity - Sources (2007) ** fossil fuel - 12,580 MW - 65% of total ** hydro - 6,463 MW - 33% of total ** nuclear - 462 MW - 2% of total But currently(2008-09) government is producing only 12-14000 MW.
what percentage of electricity is produced from locally produced oil in Pakistan? when compared to the Pakistan total electricity requirement?
No,electricity did not contain saving capacity
Dams produce 34 percent of electricity in Pakistan...so my school says :).
tarbela dam is the largest dam in pakistan and its maximum capacity is 4200MW and installed capacity is 3478MW
Major source of electricity in Pakistan is hydro. Hydro electricity is generated by 5 major dams of the country. Other means of electricity generation include thermal and atomic.
Sadly a great deal of electricity is wasted.
According to the TIME Almanac - 2010, p. 387 . . .Pakistan's consumption of electric energy from mid-2007 to mid-2008 was 109,021 gigawatt-hours.Admittedly, this doesn't answer the question, since it represents the electricity consumed, but it doesn'ttell us how much additional capacity the system had in reserve. But it's the best I could find.

it is a bad thing for pakistan
It was like a typical rural life before electricity arrived in most of the villages in 1970s. Electricity has totally changed their lifestyle and now no village is left in Pakistan without electricity.
