Penguins are sea birds and live at sea. For about two months each year, Emperor and Adelie penguins come to Antarctica's beaches to breed.
No animal lives in Antarctica. Adélie penguins -- like three other types of penguins -- breed on Antarctica's beaches, because there are no land predators there. Adélie penguins -- like all 17 types of penguins -- are sea birds and make their homes in salt water.
penguins do not like the cold, they are just use to the weather, and how it feels

Antarctica is not so bad in the summer. With the constant sunlight you get large plankton blooms which feeds whales and fish. The fish can then be eaten by bigger fish, birds and penguins. Most animals do not stay in Antarctica over the winter. Instead they migrate north to South America or the Arctic (among other places). Those that do stay (like male Emperor Penguins with their eggs) often do not eat at all over the winter.
Penguins generally live on islands and remote continental regions in Earth's southern hemisphere where they are free from land predators and inability to fly is not detrimental to their survival. Major populations of penguins are found in: Antarctica, Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand, and South Africa.
